I’m thankful also for another year of serving the Lord through blogging and podcasting. 2022 was my 14th year of writing Lux Lucet and it’s been a labor of love the whole time. Ideas are powerful things, and ideas always come in the form of words. There was a time when I was in the habit of saying “words cannot express” when talking about something that deeply affected me. But many years ago, John Robbins disabused me of that notion. In Genesis, we see that the worlds were framed by the word of God. He spoke the universe into existence. War in Ukraine
In reviewing the year’s writing, I wrote 53 articles. And the prize for my most popular article written in 2022 goes to “The Reformed Church’s Lost Doctrine of Antichrist” published on April 3, 2022. The context of that piece was Pope Francis’ consecration of Russia and Ukraine “to the Immaculate Heart of Mary” on March 25, 2022. One of the biggest stories of the year was when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. And about a month later, there was Pope Francis dedicating Russia to “the Immaculate Heart of Mary.” I didn’t catch the significance of this story the first time I hear it, but in the week leading up to the papal consecration, there was so much chatter in the media about it that I decided to investigate the matter further. What I found was that the Pope’s decision was connected to the prophecies of Fatima from over a hundred years ago, in which the demon impersonation Mary promised that if the pope dedicated Russia to her immaculate heart, the nation would be freed from its errors and convert to Catholicism. Catholic commentators were ecstatic at the consecration and at least some of them were optimistic that quick results would soon follow. But here we are over nine months later, and the Pope’s consecration seems to have had precisely no effect. The likely excuse for this among Catholic commentators is that the Pope didn’t do the consecration right. At the time of the consecration, one prominent Catholic commentator, I think it was Taylor Marshall, mentioned his concern that Francis added “Ukraine” to his consecration rather than limiting it to “Russia,” as the demonic Fatima apparition instructed.
I thought at the time of writing that article, and still think today, that one of the major overlooked aspects of the war in Ukraine is the role of the Roman Catholic Church-State (RCCS). Pope Frances has verbally come out in support of Ukraine on several occasions over the past year, and very clearly his consecrating Russia is a power play for the RCCS against its ancient rival, the Russian Orthodox Church, and against Eastern Orthodoxy more broadly. It is the long-term goal of the RCCS to create a one-world religion and a one-world government. Rome is the beating heart of New World Order globalism, and this shows very clearly in Ukraine, but most commentators either don’t notice or pretend as though they don’t.
Then there’s the fact that the CIA has been egging on this war since at least 2014 when they overthrew the elected leader in Ukraine and installed a pro-Western regime. The overthrow of Viktor Yanukovich in 2014 likely was precipitated by his announcement of a pro-Russia foreign policy for Ukraine in place of a pro-Western one. It’s worth noting, too, that the CIA has historically had close ties to the Roman Catholic Church going all the way back to its predecessor organization, the OSS during World War II. At that time, the OSS was headed by William “Wild Bill” Donovan, who was decorated “with the Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Sylvester, the oldest and most prestigious of papal knighthoods.”
Keep an eye out for further papal intrigue in Ukraine. As things stand, the RCCS has captured America’s federal government and seems fully intent on prosecuting a war in Ukraine in which no clear American interest is at stake. Is the CIA carrying out its proxy war against Russia in connection with advancing the Vatican’s goals of subjugating Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church? It seems likely to the author that this is the case.
More Than These: A Call for Reformation by Pastor Ralph Ovadal. This is a hard-hitting, brilliant critique of the Roman Church State’s use of the Pro-Life Movement to advance its ecumenical efforts among Bible-believing Protestants. It includes numerous references to recently defrocked Roman Catholic Priest Frank Pavone, who is being held up as a martyr for his faith by some in the Conservative Movement. Not only is Frank Pavone an unrepentant Roman Catholic, but for many years he has also been at the forefront of Rome’s efforts to bring American Protestants “home to Rome.” I discuss Frank Pavone in this podcast.

Over the past few years, it’s been common to hear defenders of social media censorship retort to those who complain about, “Twitter is a private company, and they can ban whom they want. If you don’t like it, go start your own Twitter!”
One interesting aspect of this argument is that those who made it generally were individuals who were not known to respect laissez-faire capitalism or private property. In fact, they tended to be socialists of one stripe or another.
Those who complained about the censorship, generally those people who tended to favor political and economic liberty, then were wrongfooted. Either they felt they had to call for government regulation of social media, which contradicted their free market principles or to make charges that the government was behind the censorship, at which point they’d be called “conspiracy theorists.”
“Conspiracy theorist” is one of those terms that seemingly everyone wants to avoid. “I’m by no means a conspiracy theorist,” is a common turn of phrase people will use when they’re about to introduce an idea that sounds like a conspiracy theory. It’s as if to believe in conspiracies is the very height of ignorance, and that one must deny conspiracies exist if he wants to remain a member of society in good standing.
But conspiracies do exist and are even recognized in criminal law. In many Western nations, one can be charged with conspiracy to commit murder. In the Bible, we find many conspiracies. When Absalom sought to overthrow David, his plot was rightly described in the King James Bible as a conspiracy. Twice, the Apostle Paul found himself the object of conspiracies to kill him. The arrest and crucifixion of Christ was the culmination of a three-year-long conspiracy by the Jewish religious leaders to get rid of the man they perceived, rightly, as a threat to their power. Doubtless, other examples of conspiracies can be found in the Bible, but these should be sufficient to make the point that conspiracies are not a figment of the imagination, but a documented historical reality.
If he has done nothing else, Elon Musk has exposed for all the world to see that the “conspiracy theorists” were right. As the Twitter Files have revealed, the government was deeply involved in the social media censorship business. Not that there was any lack of evidence of this previously. For example, the New York Post ran a headline on July 15, 2021, that read, “White House ‘flagging’ posts for Facebook to censor over COVID ‘misinformation.’” The Independent ran a piece on February 3, 2022, with the headline, “White House urges Spotify to take further action on Joe Rogan: “More can be done.’” Why did the White House want Spotify to censor Joe Rogan? It was due to the popular podcaster’s explosive interview with Dr. Robert Malone, who among other things, called the hysteria over Covid an example of “mass formation psychosis.”

“We are Republicans, and don’t propose to leave our party and identify ourselves with the party whose antecedents have been rum, Romanism, and rebellion. We are loyal to our flag.”
It would be hard to find a single statement from this evil man that would better summarize his entire administration than this. You may even say it’s his Marie Antoinette moment, the queen of France who is said to have responded “let them eat cake” when told the peasants had no bread.
As her statement was a callous dismissal of the suffering of the poor people of France, the very people for whom she had a responsibility as a member of France’s royal family, so too does Biden’s brusque comment to the reporter show his callous disregard for the suffering his irresponsible immigration policies have caused the American people and will cause them in the future.
But what if Biden’s border disaster is not a failure at all, but rather a roaring success? Even before he took office, Biden and the Democrats generally signaled their intention to reverse the Trump administration’s border enforcement policies that had done a great deal to cut down on illegal immigration. According to this article, on day one of his administration Biden signed seven, seven!, executive orders essentially gutting all the progress Trump had made on immigration during his four years in office. Did Biden not know what he was doing? Some people think he’s so senile that he was clueless. I’m not so sure. But whether it was Biden himself doing this or whether he was just carrying out the order of his handlers, whoever was responsible for these executive orders had to know full well that they would create chaos at our southern border and were willing to accept that chaos as the price of doing business. Put differently, these policy changes, and the resulting massive influx of illegal aliens, were not bumbling mistakes on the part of the Biden regime, but the clear intention of the policymakers who drafted these executive orders and, in my opinion, of the president himself.
If you’re not from the Cincinnati area as I am, you likely do not know the name Dr. O’Dell Owens. But in this area, he was a very well-known and admired individual. The article just cited listed some of his titles: Hamilton County (Cincinnati) coroner, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College president, and Cincinnati Health Department medical director.
Personally, I never knew him or interacted with him at all. My only knowledge of him comes from his media persona. From my own observations, he seemed to be a sincere and decent fellow. I know of no scandal associated with his name. From some of the coverage I’ve seen, he was a member of a local Baptist church.
His death on November 23 at the age of 74 has generated no small amount of coverage in the local newspapers and TV stations. There is talk of naming the recently opened county coroner’s crime lab after him. That seems reasonable enough, given that he was the county coroner.
But then there’s this. The county commissioner who wants to name the office after Owens stated one reason she wants to do this is because of Owens, “encouraging people during the pandemic to get vaccinated.”
According to local radio station WVXU, “Owens planned to spend his retirement volunteering ‘to support community groups on the regional response to the COVID-19 pandemic,’ and even advised Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on the state’s COVID response” Advising Gov. Mike DeWine on the Covid response is a dubious accomplishment to cite, as DeWine was a Covid tyrant. While not as bad as some of the Democrat governors, his response was heavy-handed and did a great deal of damage to the personal liberty of all Ohioans and to the economy of the state. If it were not for the action of the Ohio General Assembly, which passed a bill curtailing the emergency medical powers of the governor, a bill that was passed over DeWine’s veto, it’s hard to say when the Covid lockdown would have ended in Ohio. It ended despite, not because of, the actions of Gov. DeWine.
According to his Wikipedia article, Owens’s role in advising DeWine concerned “equitable vaccine distribution.” The likely meaning of this is that Owens worked to ensure vaccines were distributed to black Ohioans. If so, this was not the blessing that Owens seemed to think it was.
Another article from a local TV station noted, “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Owens was one of Cincinnati’s most vocal advocates for COVID-19 vaccination in the Black community.
There’s also this short video from June 2021 Owens made for PBS titled “Confidence in the Vaccine / Dr. Owens.” In it, Owens claims that he has confidence in the vaccine because it’s been under development since 1999 and that it’s been tested. Owens conceded that there was no long-term testing data, but he called the vaccine safe and effective anyway.
What’s the sum of all this? Dr. Owens, despite all his significant accomplishments, was a pusher of what is probably the deadliest medical treatment in all of history. But not one of the many local stories on Dr. Owens made this point. And the fact that not one news outlet coving this story saw fit to mention that Owens pushed the Covid jab tells you that we’re still very much in the propaganda matrix when it comes to Covid.
“I’m done. I’m not getting into a back-and-forth with you.” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shields Anthony Fauci from uncomfortable questions about the origins of Covid at this last press conference before retiring, Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, in Washington.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12
With so many tyrannies, frauds, psy-ops, and distractions going on, it’s been a while since I’ve written on the great Covid scamdemic. Let’s see what’s going on.
Jesuits Gonna Jesuit
Our favorite Jesuit – I’m speaking here about Dr. Anthony Fauci in case you’re wondering – held his swan song presser last week in which he was once again shielded from questions about the origin of Covid.
According to Jeffrey Sachs – Sachs is a very mainstream guy, he’s an economics professor at Columbia, serves as Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, and is the President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network – “there is clear proof that the National Institutes of Health and many members of the scientific community have been impeding a serious investigation of the origins of COVID-19 and deflecting attention away from the hypothesis that risky U.S.-supported research may have led to millions of deaths.”
The same article notes that Sachs believes that the U.S. has been supporting “extremely dangerous biotechnology research” out of view of the public and that it is possible that the SARS-CoV-2 “virus originated through dangerous virus research gone awry.”
Coming from a mainstream source, that’s a remarkably good statement. But even though Sachs is by all accounts a mainstream guy, he seems to be willing to challenge narratives to a degree most in his position are not. A couple of months back when the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline was mysteriously blown up, Sachs went on Bloomberg and stated it was the US or perhaps the US and Poland that had done the deed. When challenged, Sachs provided very sound reasons why he said it was the U.S. So props to Professor Sachs for puncturing the establishment narrative on Ukraine and on Covid.
Regarding Sachs’s views on Covid, I would go one step further than he does and add that I don’t believe the “virus originated through dangerous virus research gone awry.” The research was certainly dangerous. I just don’t buy the “lab leak” theory. The international coordination of the Covid response, and the way it was used to violate civil liberties and rig the elections in America suggest to me that the virus did not leak from a laboratory. It seems much easier to believe that it was intentionally released.
Why do I believe the Covid virus was released at a time of the globalists choosing and was not some random and tragic lab leak? In addition to the afore remarkably lock-step Covid lockdown protocols enforced all over the world, there was an interesting comment made by Anthony Fauci in January 2017, shortly before Donald Trump was inaugurated. Fauci was quoted as saying there was “no doubt” Donald Trump would be confronted with a surprise infectious disease outbreak during his presidency. Was Fauci so sure because he was involved in bringing about the “surprise infection”?
Or consider Event 201, an exercise held in October 2019, just a few months before the scamdemic broke out, by Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This was an exercise in coordinating a global response to the onset of a disease outbreak. It’s almost as if somebody knew something was coming.
Further, consider the “Operation Lockstep” document put out by the Rockefeller Foundation. Officially called “Scenarios for the “Future of Technology and International Development,” this document lays out a scenario in which governmental response to a pandemic involves “a world of tighter top-down control and more authoritarian leadership, with limited innovation and growing citizen pushback.” Sound familiar? This document, written in 2010 seems remarkably prescient in its description of the past three years of Covid tyranny. The fact-checkers like to dismiss any suggestion of a relationship between this paper and the governmental reaction to Covid, but this strikes me as disingenuous. Yes, the word “Covid” was not used in the document, but so what? It seems to me to be more accurate to call the “Operation Lockstep” portion of the document a thought exercise by the globalists demonstrating one option they have available to use a “pandemic” to advance their satanic New World Order and showing some of the possible roadblocks to its success.
Since governmental leaders and bureaucrats like Anthony Fauci are unwilling to answer simple questions about the origin of Covid, continue to persecute highly credentialed medical professionals who deviate from the official CDC narrative, and recommend the poison death shot even for infants, it is entirely fair for Christians to question whether this entire Covid pandemic has been a plandemic from the beginning with some other, unstated goal or goals in the minds of those responsible for pulling it off.
Happy New Year 2023: A Look Back and a Look Ahead
January 1, 2023 by Steve Matthews
It’s that time of year again. The time when we say goodbye to the old year and welcome in the new one with all its possibilities.
In the first place, I would like to thank the Lord for his grace and strength in 2022. The year was a challenging one for me personally, as I went through a period of unemployment. But God was gracious to me, helping me to find a job with a good company. And though things were a bit tight at some points, I always had the things I needed. I’m reminded of what Jesus said in his Sermon on the Mount, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things – food, clothing, etc. – shall be added unto you.”
Christ himself is called God the Word. There is nothing deeper than words. There is nothing that cannot be expressed by them. To have the opportunity to work in the medium of words. To write, to express ideas, to teach. That is a high privilege. It is also a great responsibility. It is my prayer each time I write that the words I use may honor God and edify his people.
