So Shall I be Saved from Mine Enemies: God Alone Is Our Sure Defense against Tyranny

Ohio senatorial candidate J.D. Vance shared tweeted out this screen shot from a recent NBC News broadcast. It would seem that if you question the liberty destroying Covid protocols demanded by the Democrats or think the 2020 presidential election was stolen, the Department of Homeland Security thinks you just may be a terror threat.

I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

“America is under sustained attack,” wrote Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar in a recent tweet.

In what way? you may ask. 

The Rep. Gosar went on to site a few examples.  “America is under sustained attack on its sovereignty with open borders, against its culture by race hustlers, against our public fisc [fisc meaning state treasury], and against our political/medical dissidents with a capricious legal system.”

The Congressman is right on all counts. 

Worth noting is that Rep. Gosar’s tweet was in response to a tweet by Ronna McDaniel, Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee who had tweeted out “The Republican Party stands with the people of Cuba fighting for freedom!” 

Rep. Gosar finished his tweet writing, “For the love of everything holy Cuba can wait.  Help America First.

Again, Paul Gosar is right on target. 

The Democrats have openly become the party of treason and tyranny, while the Republicans uselessly tweet out about the goings on in other countries while ignoring the fire in our own house.

To borrow a turn of phrase from Isaiah, our cites are burned with fire (Antifa and BLM riots) while strangers devour our land before our face (Biden’s treasonous open borders polity, what some migrants call “la invitación”), yet all the Republican leadership can do is tweet out about demonstrations in Cuba.  Apart from a few individuals – Sen. Rand Paul, Rep. Thomas Massie, the afore mentioned Rep. Paul Gosar and some others – very few Republicans have taken any kind of public stand against the deliberate destruction of the United States of America by the treasonous, lying, illegitimate Biden regime, the Democratic Party, and Deep State technocrats such as the Jesuit Anthony Fauci. 

America is under sustained attack to a degree and in a way that I personally have never witnessed.  And I’d be less than honest with you were I to say that I’ve been unfazed by it.  I’ve found myself alternately furious, despairing, and even scared.

In mid-August 2021, Americans are faced, not only with some of the items already mentioned, but by vaccine mandates, vaccine passports, renewed mask requirements and possible lockdowns, not to mention a War On Domestic Terror which is threatening to criminalize political opinions at odds with the ruling elite’s preferred narrative.

“I just can’t believe it’s come to this.”  I find myself saying that a lot lately. 

In some ways, that’s an odd statement for me to make.  After all, I’m a Christian and know the Scriptures.  I know who the prince of this world is, and I know how the Lord has wrought destruction on disobedient people throughout the history recorded for us in the Bible.  Even a cursory reading of secular history shows that liberty is a precious thing most fleeting. 

When I think of my writing over the past several years, the theme of decline and fall, especially the decline and fall of the formerly Christian West, seems always at the forefront of my mind. 

And yet for all that, I still find myself shocked when I read the headlines and see the evil of the Covid tyranny unfolding all around me.

When word first began to spread concerning the novel coronavirus last January, I was suspicious but didn’t know fully what to think.  Could this be a serious, naturally occurring pandemic, or is there something more at work. 

In March of 2020, my employer went 100% work from home, and arrangement that still obtains to this day.  At that same time, the lockdowns began, and this helped bring things into focus for me.  You don’t lockdown healthy people.  That’s one of the first rules of dealing with epidemics.  In Leviticus 13, we read God’s prescription for dealing with outbreaks of disease.  If someone thought he had a skin disease, he was to show himself to the priest.  Depending on the condition, the priest was to follow a particular course of examination.  At the end, the priest either would proclaim the person clean or unclean.  If the diagnosis was unclean, that person was to go outside the camp. 

But note well, it was only sick people who were quarantined, and that only after the due process of examination by the priest.  There was no provision in the law of Moses to lockdown all Israel in the hope of preventing the spread of leprosy or any other disease. The law of Moses was individualistic and was concerned with identifying conditions pertaining to individuals.  The law of tyrants is collective.  Collectivists don’t see individuals; they see the masses. 

Another point worth making is that it was through a process of self-examination that anyone would go to a priest as a possible leper.  There was no state-enforced leprosy screening program in Israel.  One went to a priest for examination on one’s own.  This eliminates the idea of forced testing that has been loudly advocated by many Covid tyrants.

A frightening pandemic has the world it its grasp.  And no, I don’t mean Covid 19, the Delta variant, or any other Coronavirus.

No.

The pandemic we all face is the terrifying tyranny pandemic.  An authoritarian, worldwide, unprecedented, and apparently globalist driven destruction of the civil liberties of the people of the West all, supposedly, to keep us safe from a virus which has a survivability rate of well over 99%. 

The virus pandemic, if it even deserves that name, frightens me not in the least. 

 It’s the tyranny pandemic unleashed by governments in the formerly free world that is terrifying.

Just a couple weeks ago I wrote on this topic.  So why return to it?  Because the shriek-o-meter of the vaccine propagandists has been cranked up to ear splitting levels that I never thought possible.  Even mainstream news channels are openly advocating authoritarianism that only a few years ago would have been unthinkable in America. 

According to the version of history I was taught and read, the Nazis lost WWII.  But from where I sit, it almost looks as if they won.  Why do I say this?  Because mor and more in what was formerly considered the free world, something very much like vaccine fascism is rapidly becoming the order of the day.  Take France, for example where it’s now “papers, please.”  In this case, it’s the vaccine passport that’s being demanded.  According to President Emmanuel Macron’s recent edict, French citizens must present proof of vaccination just go about their daily lives doing normal things: going to the movies, dining out, etc.  This has sparked a wave of protests in France, such that the government has felt compelled to back down.  At least to some extent.  But the idea of a vaccine passport is not dead in France. 

Certainly, the idea of a vaccine passport is not dead in America.  In fact, there’s a certain segment of authoritarians in America that cannot wait to issue edicts like those in France. Just last week, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell threated Americans with lockdowns as if they were disobedient children.  Get vaxxed or we’re going back to lockdowns like last year!  That was his message.

The Biden Regime’s War on the First Amendment

“There has to be, I think, some sort of way  in which we can sort through information that passes some basic truthiness tests and those that we have to discard, because they just don’t have any basis in anything that’s actually happening in the world.” 

These words are from a speech by Barak Obama in October 2016, just a few weeks before Donald Trump shocked the world by winning his presidential campaign over the establishment endorsed Hillary Clinton.

In the same speech, Obama went on to deny that he was calling for censorship, noting, “The answer is obviously not censorship, but it’s creating places where people can say ‘this is reliable’ and I’m still able to argue safely abut facts and what we should do about it.” 

Nearly five years later, it’s fair to say that quite obviously Obama and others of his political persuasion were talking about censorship, and this became clear enough last week that even the most ardent deniers of the big government/big tech censorship complex have not excuse for missing the Biden regime’s full-bore attack on the First Amendment. 

Just last week, Biden regime official propagandist Jen Psaki stunned many observers with her admission that the administration is flagging posts for Facebook that are “problematic” because they contain “misinformation” on Covid-19.    

In the same press conference, Psaki voiced her displeasure that Facebook was not deplatforming spreaders of “misinformation” fast enough for her, and presumably, for her boss’s tastes.  She said, “there’s about 12 people who are producing 65 percent of the anti-vaccine misinformation on social media platforms.  All of them remain active on Facebook, despite some even being banned on other platforms, including Facebook – ones that Facebook owns.”

If all that wasn’t enough, Psaki was at it again the next day.  In a Friday 7/17 press conference she offered that, “You shouldn’t be banned from one platform and not other if you – for providing misinformation out there.” 

As the saying goes, I need new conspiracy theories, because all my old ones are coming true.

Seriously, people have speculated for years that the Deep State has been behind much, if not all, of the social media censorship.  But this is right in your face government censorship.  We have what is, in my opinion, an illegitimate government installed through election fraud stomping on the right of American’s to freely access information on a matter that affects all our lives.

The Never Ending Covid Tyranny

When I first begin writing about Covid, now nearly a year and a half ago, I was very concerned about what I was seeing.  The never-ending drumbeat about Covid in the press, even in January and February 2020, immediately made me suspicious that it represented some sort of PSYOP (psychological operation).  By whom or to what end, I was not sure, but it had the look and feel of a propaganda effort.

Today, I’m more convinced that ever that Coivd is a remarkably sophisticated hoax and is being used by the powers that shouldn’t be to advance their agenda of tyrannical global government.

One bit of evidence for this is how the rhetoric of Covid tyranny not only is not subsiding but seems to be getting louder, even as threat of Covid long ago peaked. 

One example of this is a comment made by the appalling Dr. Leana Wen, a CNN medical contributor.  Just last week, she said in an interview, “It needs to be hard for people to remain unvaccinated” Dr. Wen went on to say, “But at some point, these mandates, by workplaces, by schools, I think it will be important to say, ‘Hey, you can opt out, but if you want to opt out, you have to sign these forms, you have to get twice weekly testing.”

Back when Covid first became an issue in early 2020, there were any number of people saying that it was going to be used as a means to usher in tyranny – vaccine passports, lockdowns, mandatory vaccines, and all that – but they were just a bunch of crazy conspiracy theorists, who didn’t know what they were talking about. 

Today, they don’t look so crazy. 

In fact, all those warning from a year or more ago look rather prescient today.

One example of early warnings about the globalists’ intent to use the so-called Covid pandemic to advance their plans to impose tyranny comes from James Corbett, an outstanding independent journalist who’s reported on the nefarious plans of the deep staters and globalists for years.  His video “Medical Martial Law 2020”  discusses the origin or the lockdowns and vaccine mandates we’re still fighting here in July 2021.

In the Beginning, Part 9: Is Resistance to Tyranny Obedience to God?

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

“Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God.”  This quote, or some variant to it, has been attributed to several prominent people.  In searching for the origin of the quote, I found it credited to such notables as John Knox, William Tyndale, and Benjamin Franklin. Thomas Jefferson used “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God” on his personal seal.  Jefferson wanted to use this saying on the Seal of the United States

Whatever the origin of the quote, many Christians today are troubled by the notion that it is ever a Christian’s duty to resist tyranny.  Citing Paul’s injunction in Romans 13 “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities,” they take Paul’s command to be, if not an absolute, at least something very close to it. 

The extent of the civil magistrate’s legitimate authority came to the surface in 2020 with the coming of the Covid 19 restrictions across much of the world.  These restrictions not only affected schools, universities, and businesses, but also churches.  Sincere Christians, when considering how to react to government restrictions, in particular government restrictions on church meetings, came to different conclusions.  Some believed it was the duty of Christians to obey every command of the various civil authorities that restricted, or outright prohibited, church meetings.  Others considered it a Christian duty to resist such edicts.  Because of these different views, as a follow up to last week’s post on the divine origin of civil government, it seemed good to me to say something about the relationship of civil government to the church.

To take the suspense out of things, I’ll tell you my view of the matter up front.  Christians are required to obey civil magistrates, but only in the Lord.  The civil magistrate, while a legitimate minister of God, has limited authority.  This was also John Calvin’s view.  He wrote,

The characteristic of a true sovereign is, to acknowledge that, in the administration of his kingdom, he is a minister of God. He who does not make his reign subservient to the divine glory, acts the part not of a king, but a robber. He, moreover, deceives himself who anticipates long prosperity to any kingdom which is not ruled by the sceptre of God, that is, by his divine word (Institutes, Prefatory Address).

Later in the Institutes, Calvin wrote,

We are subject to the men who rule over us, but subject only in the Lord. If they command anything against Him let us not pay the least regard to it, nor be moved by all the dignity which they possess as magistrates – a dignity to which no injury is done when it is subordinated to the special and truly supreme power of God (Book IV, Chapter 20.32).

It is the view of this author that the civil authority has no jurisdiction to regulate how Christian churches conduct their worship services, and that all such regulation represents overreach on the part of the civil magistrate. This is not to say that Christian ministers and Christians themselves are not subject to the governing authorities.  If Christians commit acts that are contrary to the law of God and the just civil laws of society, then they are justly punished by the civil magistrate.  But the regulation or prohibition of singing hymns, capacity limits due to Covid, or even outright prohibition on gathering on the Lord’s Day?  All such restrictions by the civil authorities are tyrannical and ought to be resisted by Christians everywhere.

The Bible and Covid Lockdowns

“New year, same old virus.  Masks on, Ohio.”  That was the cheery New Year’s greeting on the electronic message boards on the interstates around Cincinnati yesterday.

How is it that the government has managed to turn “fifteen days to flatten the curve” into over nine months of lockdowns, mask requirements, and social distancing with no end in sight?

From the very first time I heard about Covid and all the attendant liberty and economy destroying measures the experts insisted we follow lest we die the death, this entire so-called pandemic has struck this author as a psyop designed to allow wanna be tyrants the opportunity to enact measures they otherwise could never get away with.

From the standpoint of the authoritarians and globalists, Covid certainly has been a far better tool for restricting freedom and bolstering their own power than climate change. 

Compared to the threat of a supposedly killer virus which could strike you dead without warning while driving to work, climate change seemed downright boring.

Two years ago, socialist con-artist and Congress critter Alexandria Ocasio Cortez tried to scare people with her Green New Deal, eloquently warning people that, “like, the world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.”    

Queue the collective public yawn.    

But a killer virus, one that’s not merely an epidemic, but a pandemic?  Now that’s just the sort of thing to make people sit up and pay attention!  And pay attention they did.

Nearly the entire developed world went into lockdown mode in February and March of 2020.  When I first heard about lockdowns, I thought the whole idea was so absurd, so clearly a violation of people’s liberties, and so obviously destructive of the economy, that I really didn’t think governors would actually go through with them.

Obviously, I was wrong. 

Not only have public officials – including Ohio Governor Mike DeWine – embraced lockdowns, mask requirements, business closures, etc., but they have done so with great gusto and with relatively little effective pushback from citizens who are daily having their lives destroyed by their policies.

And it’s the pretty much the same wherever you go in the formerly free West.  Some places are a better, some are worse. But with very few exceptions, not only has Covid been used as an excuse to destroy liberty, but the level of destruction is continually ratcheted up.

Just today, CNBC ran the headline “Tougher lockdown restrictions likely on the way, says UK PM Boris Johnson.” 

The beatings will continue until moral improves!

It was only in November that headlines were declaring that the UK economy had suffered the worst recession in more than 300 years. 

Now, Boris Johnson wants to do more of the same thing that’s already substantially destroyed the economy of his country and the liberties of his people.

This is madness.

It’s also sinful.

But, sadly, it’s also typical of the sort of thinking that has gripped the minds of civil magistrates throughout the West.
