The creepy optics of Joe Biden’s “Soul of America” speech at Independence Hall, Philadelphia, PA, September 1, 2022.
“We are Republicans, and don’t propose to leave our party and identify ourselves with the party whose antecedents have been rum, Romanism, and rebellion. We are loyal to our flag.”
Dr. Samuel D. Burchard
This week, I was going to continue with my series on likening living under the Biden Regime to living under Queen Athaliah of Judah, another example of a usurper of power, and the lessons Christians can take from that Biblical account.
I say, I was going to continue with it this week, until Joe Biden came along and gave what is, in my opinion, probably the most disturbing and tyrannical speech ever given by an American President. Certainly, it’s the most disturbing and tyrannical speech I personally have ever heard from a man in that office.
In some ways, this piece really is a part of the series on Athaliah. But in my mind, the content of Biden’s speech is that I think it falls more naturally under the heading of another, recurring series of posts I’ve been writing called Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion (RR&R). The RR&R series attempts to link the socialist, authoritarian, anti-Constitutional, globalist ideas and corruption found so prevalently in the Democratic party with the fact that this same party is, and has been since well back into the 19th century, the political home of the papal Antichrist in the United States of America.
The fact that the Democrats were the party of Antichrist was recognized by writers in the 19th century, and most famously expressed by Presbyterian minister and Union Civil War veteran Dr. Samuel D. Burchard, who in 1884 uttered the line at the top of this post, calling the Democrats, “the party whose antecedents have been rum, Romanism, and rebellion.”

And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.
II Kings 11:1
Last week I wrote about America and how our nation, conceived in liberty with a government of, by, and for the people, has devolved to the point where we now live under an occupation government with a son of Antichrist seated in the Oval Office.
Of course, the Regime press will never tell you this. Their job is to curry favor with the powers that shouldn’t be. In fact, about the only good reason I can think of for reading the legacy media is the same one I’m told the people of the Soviet Union followed Pravda: to know what official lies the government expected them to believe. If you know a narrative is a lie, it’s easier to dismiss it as the propaganda it is.
On Friday, The New York Times ran an absurd hit piece of an editorial titled “Donald Trump Is Not Above the Law.” Of course, we would agree with that statement. But the Times isn’t interested in impartial justice. You see, the writers at the Times and other outlets that worship and serve the Beast, while Donald Trump is not above the law, Barak Obama (spied on the Trump campaign), Hillary Clinton (server gate and other crimes too numerous to mention), Hunter Biden (laptop from hell), Joe Biden (grand theft election) are above the law. So too are the alphabet agencies such as the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, and the DOJ. The Times is asking you to forget about the massive, treasonous activities of these individuals and organizations while focusing on a supposed “crime” of Donald Trump which appears not to be a crime at all. Indeed, given the consistent, outrageous lying on the part of the Democrats and the Deep State about Trump since at least 2015, Americans have every right to dismiss this latest dust-up over Trump’s stealing of classified documents as the latest and most desperate hate hoax against the former President, who is hated and feared by the party of rum, Romanism, and rebellion to a degree that I have not personally witnessed before in the world of politics.
So, what does the Bible say about living under an occupation government, a usurping, corrupt, and illegitimate government? As was mentioned last week, there is a surprising and little discussed example of that very thing in Scripture, the reign of Queen Athaliah of Judah.
One supposes that there are many who attend nominally Protestant churches these days who would be surprised to hear that Judah had a queen for six years. But such was the case. And her reign can be instructive to us as to how to live as God’s people under an occupation government and not give up hope.
[W]here the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty

“Pope Francis: Climate Change Has Become An ‘Emergency’” ran the Breitbart headline from last Thursday, July 14. The occasion for this story was, “Pope Francis instruct[ing] the Holy See to sign onto the 2015 Paris Climate Accord.”
The Paris Climate Accord, a globalist power grab designed to strip citizens of their political and economic liberties in the name of stopping climate change, is one of many hoaxes used by globalists, including the Antichrist papacy, to destroy what remains of the Protestant Westphalian World Order (WWO) and to promote socialism and global government.
Not wanting Jorge Bergoglio (aka Francis I) to have all the fun, the very next day Joe Biden, America’s second Roman Catholic president, declared that he will move forward with his own initiatives to combat climate change and curb greenhouse gas emissions.
According to this article from CNBC, Biden made his remarks, “a day after Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., told Democratic leadership that he won’t support the climate provisions in the reconciliation bill.”
Note that CNBC said nothing about Biden’s remarks following the Pope’s. No, that would let the cat out of the bag. Biden’s remarks were following Joe Manchin’s refusal to support “climate provisions.”
Just as the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century freed men from the spiritual tyranny of the Roman Catholic Church-State, so did it liberate them from Rome’s political and economic tyranny.
But the past 131 years have seen a steady decrease in political and economic liberty and a concomitant rise in Roman Catholic authoritarianism.

Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
Genesis 9:6
No sooner had the terrible news of yesterday’s mass shooting in Buffalo, NY broken than the usual crowd was out on social and legacy media pushing the usual illogical arguments.
When I say illogical argument, allow me to provide a few examples.
First up on our list is the tweet from noted Jesuit James Martin (you know he’s a Jesuit by the “SJ” listed after his name, SJ standing for “Society of Jesus). Martin calls for prayers, “for the 10 victims of the racist, white nationalist, terrorist shootings.” Christians, of course, are not called to pray for the dead. But this is a teaching of the Roman Church-State.
Martin then goes on to call, “for an end of gun violence, through stricter gun control laws.” This an example of the erroneous approach to criminal justice known as “crime prevention.” The idea is that you regulate – that is, you punish – everyone in advance in hopes of preventing some future criminal action. An extreme form of this unbiblical approach to criminal justice was depicted in the dystopian science fiction movie Minority Report based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. In that movie, a Department of PreCrime would arrest people for crimes that they supposedly were going to commit based upon visions of the future by individuals known as pre-cogs.
But Scripture does not countenance crime prevention. The Scriptural approach to criminal justice is crime punishment, and idea which Martin, at least in part, rejects. In a 2020 article in America Magazine (America is a publication of the Jesuits), Martin approvingly wrote of Pope Francis decision to change the Church’s teaching on capital punishment. According to Martin, in his encyclical “Fratelli Tutti,” Jesuit Pope Francis “placed the full weight of his teaching authority behind this statement: The death penalty is inadmissible, and Catholics should work for its abolition.” Put differently, Pope Francis, James Martin, and the Roman Catholic Church-State (RCCS) generally have committed themselves to subverting justice in all the nations of the world.
Perhaps one motive for the Catholic Church’s desire to subvert criminal justice is the horrifying numbers of murders that historians have laid at the feet of Rome. Scholars have attributed differing numbers of murders to Rome. One of the more conservative figures this author has seen is found in John Dowling’s book The History of Romanism. Writes Dowling, “From the birth of Popery in 606, to the present time, it is estimated by careful and credible historians, that more than Fifty Millions of the human family, have been slaughtered for the crime of heresy by popish persecutors, and average of more than forth thousand religious murders for every year of the existence of Popery” (541-42).
So while on one hand Martin attempts to short-circuit Biblical justice that calls for executing murders, on the other hand, he seeks to punish all Americans by taking away their God-given, Second Amendment guaranteed right to keep and bear arms. That’s very Jesuitical of him indeed. And Marin is hardly the only Jesuit of this opinion. Podcaster Christopher Pinot has discussed on his podcast how the Jesuits have advocated banning even handguns such as 9mm pistols. It seems that their goal is to strip Americans of all their firearms. Now why would they want to do that.
Martin denounces “the evils of white nationalism, white supremacy, and the sin of racism,” but does not tell us what he means by these terms. Perhaps he defines them elsewhere. I don’t know. But given the sloppy way such terms as “white nationalism,” “white supremacy” and “racism” used, given the social justice bent of Martin’s tweet and of the Jesuits generally, and given the Jesuit practice of mental reservation, he may mean something very different by these terms than do his readers.

Last week when someone leaked the Supreme Court’s draft majority opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, many commentators, including this author, viewed this leak to rally the troops and an attempt to intimidate the justices into withdrawing their support for the decision. The actions or inactions on the part of highly placed people over the past few days have done nothing to diminish this suspicion.
Of course, we don’t know for sure who leaked the draft opinion or their motives for doing so. But given the shrieking that started immediately on the pro-abort side, and which seems to be picking up momentum, it’s reasonable to speculate that stirring up the mob to bully the court was the intent.
Recent history also supports this notion. Think back just two years to the Black Lives Matter/Antifa rioting. Those riots were largely successful in advancing the woke agenda in schools, universities, and corporations and in helping to remove Donald Trump from power and installing the illegitimate Biden Regime in the White House.
Force works, as John Robbins noted. That’s why tyrants use it.
Jesuit-educated Nina Jankowicz (Masters from Georgetown University) has been tapped by the Biden Regime to head up the new Ministry of Truth, known formally as the Disinformation Governance Board.
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Proverbs 29:2
“But clearly our entire principles of the country was founded on, you cannot have a Ministry of Truth in this country. And so let’s get real here. Let’s make sure that we’re doing things that benefit Floridians and Americans, but we’re not going to let Biden get away with this one. So, we’ll be fighting back.”
Those were the remarks of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis last week in response to the Biden Regime’s announcement of a new Ministry of Truth – the Disinformation Governance Board is the actual name for this new group that will fall under the umbrella of the equally Orwellian named Department of Homeland Security.
For years, many have warned Americans of the creeping police state in this nation, and the day for it has finally arrived. Actually, it’s been here for some time, but the fruits of the authoritarian mindset of our rulers have become much more manifest over the past two years.
Joe Biden delivers a speech in Warsaw, Poland on 3/26/2022, in which he appeared to call for the removal of Vladimir Putin. Administration officials have denied this was Biden’s intent.
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger
Proverbs 15:1
“For God’s sake, this man [Vladimir Putin] cannot remain in power.”
Let Biden’s words sink in for a moment. Here’s the President of the United States uttering words that could reasonably be interpreted as a declaration of war on a sovereign, nuclear-armed power.
Growing up during the cold war, I well remember the constant tensions between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. But for all that, I don’t ever recall hearing the sort of threat that Biden uttered in his speech on Saturday.
Biden has held political office of one sort or another for about fifty years. As a lawyer and as a politician he, of all people, should understand the importance of choosing the right words.
It was King Solomon who penned the words “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” Perhaps those words need to be tattooed on the forehead of Biden and his advisors, for they seem to have forgotten, or perhaps never learned them.
