Perhaps you’ve read about the famous Christmas truce of 1914.[1] As WWI was getting underway, Allied and German soldiers, much to the horror of their commanders, decided during Christmas that they preferred celebrating peace on earth to killing one another.

Christmas 2024, on the other hand, saw a war break out. Not a shooting war of the sort raging in Europe in 1914, but a war of ideas. This time, the battlefield wasn’t France. It was X. And the opposing forces weren’t the British and German armies but was more of a civil war, pitting Trump supporters against other Trump supporters on immigration.

Immigration is a big topic. The Christmas immigration war of 2024 was focused on one aspect of the subject: the H-1B visa. More to the point, the focus was on the incoming Trump administration’s desire to remove the country cap that currently limits the number of H-1B visas issued to a particular country. India was the focus of this battle, as the bulk of H-1B visas are issued to Indian tech workers. Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and others argued that more H-1B visas would help America “win.” Others were upset, seeing the proposed increase in H-1B visas as opposed to Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) agenda.

Trump to end birthright citizenship for illegal aliens on day one.

Some of the best news on the immigration front I’ve ever heard is Donald Trump’s promise to sign an executive order to end birthright citizenship for the children of illegal aliens on day one of his term in office. Trump called the practice “ridiculous,” which indeed it is.

Of course, the Antichrist Roman Catholic Church-State, its frontmen, and other groups with a vested interest in committing treason against the United States of America will howl and scream and beat their breasts in opposition. Expect serious pushback from them, as all these evildoers know full well how important awarding citizenship to the children of illegal aliens born on American soil is to their treasonous, irredentist immigration assault on America.

Trump vows to end birthright citizenship and pardon US Capitol rioters” by Jude Sheerin, BBC News, 12/09/2024, accessed 12/10/2024.

The Lord was merciful to America last week.

He could have given us the Monstrous Regiment, but he didn’t. He could have given us a president who was in part responsible for releasing a millions-strong welfare migrant horde on our nation, but he didn’t. He could have given us a president who has openly attacked our First Amendment right to free speech, but he didn’t.

In short, America, much like Donald Trump in Butler, PA, dodged a bullet last week. As the psalmist says, “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.”

Donald Trump being ushered off stage by the Secret Service after an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania, July 13, 2024.

The attempted assassination of Donald Trump yesterday was shocking but certainly not surprising.  While they’ve been careful not to directly demand it, since at least 2015, many in America’s ruling class have invited such an attack with their repeated denunciations of Donald Trump and his supporters.

Early in the Biden Regime, someone – I don’t have the quote handy – commented that, historically, presidential candidates and presidents would attack their political opponents but not their opponents’ supporters.  That’s not the case anymore.

Obama started it with his comments about the “bitter clingers,” which was the term he used to put down impoverished small-town and rural whites, who he dismissively described as bitter and clinging to their guns and religion.

Will the Democrats rig the 2024 presidential election?  The only correct answer is, of course, they will.

Election rigging has a long and storied history in the party of rum, Romanism, and rebellion.  It was the stock in trade of 19th and 20th big-city Democrat political machines such as Tammany Hall, and that practice has carried over into the 21st century. Election fraud is what the Democrats do best. Certainly, developing policies that appeal to normal Americans isn’t their strong suit.  Stop and think about it for a moment.  When was the last time the Dems ever pushed a policy that was consistent with the Constitution and improved the lives of ordinary Americans?

And I write this not as a Republican hack.  I vote Republican, but not because I’m blind to the serious defects within the party.  But for all the GOP’s faults – e.g., their rabid Zionism – unlike the Dems, at least Republican politicians don’t openly hate me because I’m a white, Christian man.  The Dems, on the other hand, never miss a chance to denounce me and millions of other Americans like me as the dregs of humanity.  Not being hated by a presidential candidate seems like a low bar as a reason to support him, but that’s where we are in America in A.D. 2024.

U.S. President Joe Biden attends the first presidential debate hosted by CNN in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S., June 27, 2024.

Last December, I had lunch with a friend.  We both talked about the upcoming 2024 presidential election and kicked around possible outcomes.  One thing we both agreed on is that, come the fall of 2024, we could find ourselves living in a very different world.

Now, here we are, over six months since our lunch, and things are still as much up in the air as they were last December.  Biden has locked up the Democratic nomination, and Trump the Republican. So we’re headed for a rematch of the 2020 election, right?

Well, if you’ve followed the news, you already know things aren’t nearly that certain.  Donald Trump has been convicted in a New York court of some felony or other and may end up getting tossed in jail. His sentencing date is July 11, a mere 4 days before the Republican National Convention starts in Milwaukee. What if he does receive jail time? Will it affect his nomination?  What if Trump wins the White House while in prison?

Make Avocados Great Again

Avocado price spike illustrates danger to U.S. economy of Mexican border closure” ran a headline from MarketWatch. “So is this what it’s come to?,” I thought to myself. Here we are in the midst of an historic migrant surge along the southern border, the latest battle in a long running immigration war which the American people are losing badly, and all MarketWatch seems to care about is the price of avocados going up.

That’s bad but not surprising.

But what really concerns me is that it’s not clear that Donald Trump differs in any substantial way on immigration from the editors of MarketWatch.

When he ran for president in 2016 under the slogan “Make America Great Again,” Trump resonated with ordinary American voters as no presidential candidate ever has, at least no one in my experience.

Hated by the bi-coastal elites, the New York real estate developer showed a remarkable ability to connect with average Americans in “flyover country” who felt, with good reason, that their concerns were being ignored by the nation’s business, academic and political leaders.
