Biden’s Border Crisis
The current border crisis, with 10,000 – 12,000 illegal aliens per day pouring into the United States, is a completely, totally, one hundred percent the creation of the Biden Regime. This is an existential threat to America, by which I mean that it threatens the very existence of the United States as a going concern.
The financial cost of Biden’s Border Crisis was estimated to be between $150 billion and $451 billion annually according to a report released by House Committee on Homeland Security.[1] But the problems go much deeper than that. The Biden Regime’s lawless illegal alien assault on America, if not stopped and reversed, will permanently change America for the worse, which is exactly the plan.
What are Christians to make of this? In the first place, they must recognize the ultimate source of this flood of illegal aliens is not Joe Biden or the treasonous individuals he has appointed such as Alejandro Mayorkas. As a Jesuit-linked Roman Catholic, Joe Biden is simply carrying out the Vatican Antichrist’s[2] immigration policy, with the aim of Romanizing America and ending its existence as an independent nation. The problem with American Protestants is that very few of them recognize the border crisis as the work of Antichrist and thus fail to understand the gravity of the situation. But for those with eyes to see, the clear and present danger – to borrow a turn of phrase from Tom Clancy – of the current border crisis is obvious. Not only is it imperative that the current policy be stopped and reversed, but those who have implemented this act of treason must be punished.
The Ongoing Election Fraud
The 2024 election is shaping up to be round 2 of the great election fraud of 2020. In the opinion of this author, the 2020 presidential election was obviously stolen by the Democrats/Deep State/Establishment/RINO Republicans. What is worse, they made it stick. The January 6th “insurrection” was a set-up, a sort of brilliant act of political judo. In Judo, one uses his opponent’s momentum against him. In political Judo, one uses his political opponents’ anger against them. The Democrats/Deep Staters knew full well that a large crowd of Trump supporters would be in Washington on January 6th, the day the 2020 election would be certified by Congress, and provoked the riot at the Capitol to create an incident that they could then use to go after Trump’s base. This, they have done for nearly three years.
In short, the Democrats were able to use January 6th to help make the 2020 election fraud stick. And because they have made it stick and were not punished, it is entirely reasonable to expect that the 2024 election will be just as fraudulent, if no more so, than that of 2020. Put somewhat differently, I doubt that Americans can vote their way out of the mess we’re in. The criminals are in charge of the machinery and are not willingly going to let it go. They cannot let it go. Once you start down the path of election fraud, you must keep committing election fraud and cannot afford not to lest your evil deeds be found out. It’s like that saying about grabbing a tiger by the tail. Once you grab the tail, you can’t let go or you’ll be eaten. It’s not a good place to be. Yet those running our federal government are in that very spot. They are desperate men and will do anything they believe is necessary to retain power.
What does this mean for Donald Trump and his supporters? In my opinion, if Trump somehow manages to beat the four indictments and 96 charges – at least it was 96 the last time I checked; maybe the prosecutors have added a few since then – he’s facing, the Democrats aren’t going to stop. They’ve already laid one of their cards on the table, removing Trump from the ballots of individual states. The Colorado Supreme Court did so first, and now the Maine Secretary of State has followed suit. It’s reasonable to suppose that additional dirty tricks, things you and I probably haven’t even thought of, will be brought to bear to stop Trump’s nomination and election.
The problem the Establishment has is that Donald Trump is still wildly popular with Republican voters and is even doing well among independents.[3] His popularity seems to go up with every bogus indictment. They’ve spent years investigating him, running propaganda campaigns against him, and impeaching him. And to what effect? They had the steal the election to get him out of office in 2020. What else can they do with such a man? Well, there’s one last option. The political nuclear option if you get my drift. It’s been used before in America. It will be used again if needed.
The Democrats and the Establishment will never willingly allow Donald Trump to assume the presidency. Apart from remarkable and unforeseen events, Donald Trump does not take office in January 2025. It will be an establishment lacky from one party or the other.
Alternate take: Donald Trump is just as much an establishment lacky as the rest of the presidential candidates and simply playing his part in a grand deception. I’ve heard some refer to it as Jesuit theater. This seems unlikely to me, but I don’t dismiss it out of hand.
Financial Collapse
America’s financial system has been living on borrowed time since 2008 and has been kept alive by a combination of massive money printing, propaganda, market manipulation, and military might. But the borrowed time appears to be coming to an end.
America’s military reputation has taken two huge hits during Biden’s time in office. First, there was the disastrous pullout from Afghanistan in the fall of 2021. Second, the wipeout of the U.S.-backed Ukrainian army by the Russians.
Other nations see this and are acting accordingly. During the Nixon Administration, Henry Kissinger famously set up what came to be known as the petrodollar system, in which Saudi Arabia agreed to sell its oil only in dollars in exchange for U.S. military protection. The petrodollar system created a large demand for dollars that otherwise would not have been there, thus putting a solid floor under the value of the dollar that served to solidify the dollar’s role as the world reserve currency. That petrodollar system has now all but ended, with the Saudis and other nations now selling their oil in currencies other than the dollar. Part of the reason for the Saudis’ withdrawal from the petrodollar agreement is that they now view the U.S. as militarily incompetent and incapable of offering the kingdom adequate military protection.
Combine America’s military weakness, the dollar’s shrinking role as a reserve currency, and exploding federal deficit spending here at home, and you have a dangerous combination of factors that suggest a significant drop in the value of the U.S. dollar sometime soon. And you and I will experience that drop in the value of the dollar as rapidly rising prices. We already have experienced this to some degree. But there is potential for a more rapid and much greater dollar devaluation ahead, possibly in 2024.
With that said, the Federal Reserve may be able to hold things together with chewing gum and bailing wire through the 2024 fall elections and prevent a collapse in the dollar’s value next year. But even if a massive drop off in the value of the dollar is avoided in 2024, the serious problems underlying America’s financial system will not have been solved. The day of reckoning will come at some point.
The Battle for the First Amendment Continues
The establishment went all out attacking the First Amendment beginning in 2018. To some degree, their stranglehold on the narrative was broken by Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter in November of 2022 and the subsequent release of the Twitter files proving government interference in the 2020 election by the suppression of news such as the Hunter Biden laptop.
The American political right was all for free speech and the exposure of censorship until October 7th, the day Hamas attacked Israel. Since that time, there have been calls for the suppression of free speech from numerous conservative individuals and political candidates. Today, there are any number of former conservatives who previously pretended to support the First Amendment who now accuse you of antisemitism if you believe in free speech relative to the Israel-Hamas war. These Zionist fanatics pose a real threat to our republic and our liberties. If we are unable to discuss and debate ideas, then we no longer live in a free society.
Happy New Year?
Well, I hope that wasn’t too depressing. It certainly isn’t a very cheery list. But then, given the state of Western Civilization, it’s to be expected. As Gordon Clark noted in his 1952 work A Christian View of Men and Things, the West is in the process of collapse. Western Civilization is built on the biblical ideas recovered at the time of the 16th-century Protestant Reformation. But biblical Christianity has all but disappeared from the West. As a result, the civilization built upon it is also vanishing.
I mentioned earlier in this post that there are two things a prudent man must do when facing trouble. First, he must recognize that there is a problem. Second, he must “hide himself,” that is, he must take reasonable precautions to avoid becoming a victim of the trouble of whatever sort he sees coming.
As Christians, how do we respond to the very serious challenges that we face going into 2024? In the first place, we must remember that God is sovereign. Neither Antichrist, nor the Deep State, nor George Soros, nor any of the other bad actors we see out there today are sovereign. Second, we must remember that God has promised that all things – all things, not some things – work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose. This includes immigration treason, stolen elections, financial collapse, and tyranny.
How could these things possibly work together for anyone’s good? Admittedly, on the surface, it seems ridiculous to even suggest such a thing. But a little reflection will, I think, reveal some possibilities.
To take just one example, consider how these issues can be used to prompt Christians to search the Scriptures for answers to questions about immigration, the identity of Antichrist, proper government, and sound money. The Bible speaks to all these issues. And if we lack wisdom, as James wrote, let us ask of God who gives to all men generously and without reproach. Christians can use crises of the sort we’re facing to grow in the knowledge of the word of God and in wisdom to apply it.
A second way evil circumstances can work for the good of God’s people is that it drives us away from the love of this world and to the love of him. When things are going well, it’s easy to drift in our faith, trusting too much in this present world and in our own wealth and wisdom and not enough in the Lord Jesus Christ. Sometimes he must take away the comforts we have grown to love too much to drive us to something better, to drive us to himself.
A third way that the present evils we face can work together for the good of God’s people is that it can provide us with evangelistic opportunities. As my dad likes to say, “We’re going downhill fast.” He’s right, of course. We really are going downhill at a remarkable clip. So much so that even many people who aren’t Christians can see the dangers of the course we are on. There’s only one place to find answers to these problems, and that is in the word of God. Is it absurd to think that the Lord may use these very same present evils to bring people to himself?
I think that’s enough for now. For my part, I look forward to 2024 and seeing what the Lord will do for his people. I wish you all a very happy new year. May his blessings be upon you and your family.

[2] By “Antichrist” I mean specifically the office of the papacy. As the Westminster Confession of Faith put it, the Pope of Rome is “that Antichrist, that man of sin and son of perdition that exalteth himself in the Church against Christ and all that it called God.
