The conflict between Christian individualism which recognizes the liberty of conscience of the individual and Roman Catholic Borg-style collectivism has come to the fore over the last two years during the so-called Covid pandemic.
Rome has long expressed its hatred for individualism in the most explicit terms. In his book Ecclesiastical Megalomania, John Robbins cites many statements from prominent Roman Catholic churchmen and scholars condemning economic and political individualism while extolling the virtues of “the common good,” “solidarity,” and “equality.”
But as this author has read through various reports and opinion pieces on Covid, especially pieces regarding mask and vaccine mandates, the fault line between those who believe in individualism and those who are collectivists has become clear. Those who are Protestant in their thinking, whether actual Bible believers or simply people who inconsistently hold an individualistic mindset, take the position that no one should be forced to mask up to take the jab. On the other hand, the Pope and collectivists of all stripes take the stance that one’s individual view of the Covid jabs is irrelevant as taking the shot is not for one’s selfish, narrow concept of self-interest, but for the greater good of society.
Here are some statements from Antichrist Pope Francis that clearly show he is a collectivist with deep animosity towards the individual.
- “Looking to the common good is much more than the sum of what is good for individuals. It means having a regard for all citizens and seeking to respond effectively to the needs of the least fortunate” (“Pope Francis: A Crisis Reveals What Is in Our Hearts,” The New York Times, 11/26/2020). These comments by Francis were directed against people “refusing to keep their distance, marching against travel restrictions – as if measures that governments must impose [n.b. while some governments chose to impose restrictions on their populations, this was a choice, not a necessity] for the good of the people constitute some kind of political assault on autonomy or personal freedom!”
- “Francis rejected the concept of an absolute right to property for individuals, stressing instead the ‘social purpose and common good that must come from sharing the Earth’s resources” (“Pope: Market capitalism has failed in pandemic, needs reform,” Fox News, 10/4/2020).
- “And neither can we allow the virus of radical individualism to triumph over us and make us indifferent to the suffering of other brothers and sisters” (“In Christmas message curbed by Covid, pope calls on nations to share vaccines,” CNBC, 12/25/2020).
- “Pope Francis denounced the ‘pathologies’ of individualism and indifference Thursday in his message for the World Day of the Sick…Individualism and indifference to the other are forms of selfishness that are unfortunately amplified in the society of consumerist well-being and economic liberalism” (“Pope Francis Condemns Inequalities Caused by ‘Economic Liberalism,’” Breitbart, 2/10/2022).
Many additional like quotes can be supplied, but these should be sufficient to establish the animosity that this pope, in line with the other occupants of the Office of Antichrist before him, has for individualism and individual liberty.
With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that the Roman Catholic Church-State as well as her many votaries in the press, academia, and government would favor mandating the unsafe and ineffective mRNA Covid vaccination, threatening loss of one’s job as a punishment for noncompliance.
Nor should it come as a surprise that the current king of vaccine tyranny, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, is a Roman Catholic who attended high school at the same Jesuit-founded institution as did his father, former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
When it comes to the jab, Antichrist demands we all become one with the Borg.
