Former FBI Director James Comey testifies before Congress.
I’m sick unto death of hearing about James Comey. But no more than I’m sick of hearing about Russian collusion, FISA warrants, special prosecutors and impeachment. Enough already! Anybody with me on this?
After watching Democrats and the mainstream media – I know, they’re substantially one and the same thing – work themselves into a tizzy about supposed Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, I just can’t take it anymore. They had high hopes that their new found fair-haired by James Comey would deliver a death blow to the Trump presidency, but that appears not to have happened.
Even liberal commentator Chris Matthews (no relative) admitted as much. Said Matthews, “But the big story has always been the assumption of the critics of the president…that somewhere along the line in the last year, the president had something to do with colluding with the Russians…And yet what came apart this morning was that theory.” So for you Democrats, take it from one of your own and just stop it with the Russia, Russia, Russia thing, ‘k?
Here’s the deal: you guys lost the election, not because of the Russkies, but because you had an epically horrible candidate. And you had an epically horrible candidate because the epically corrupt DNC epically rigged the primaries to ensure Hillary was your nominee, paving the way for the Trump administration, the very thing you hate the most in all the world.
I know. It’s hard to look in the mirror and accept that, yes, to a large degree you brought your current Trump troubles upon yourselves. I get that. I really do.
You’ve invested years of your lives and probably billions of donor dollars pushing your America last platform. You’ve diligently fanned the flames of racial grievance politics. You’ve courted the feminists, the LGTBQQ community, Al Gorian tree huggers, illegal immigrants, and snowflake college students all in the hope of driving that last nail into the coffin of the deplorable bitter clingers.
But it didn’t work. And now you need to blame someone. It’s only natural. Sinful men normally seek to blame others for troubles of their own making. As a sinner, I struggle with this too.
But instead of lashing out in rage at others and making up asinine conspiracy theories about Trump’s non-existent collusion with Russia, why not do something constructive instead? How about this. Start by looking in the mirror, taking a deep breath, and admitting this simple truth: Hating the American people is not a winning election strategy.
And after you do that, here’s a few more simple but important election truths you may want to consider.
Committing America to climate deals that impose enormous costs on the American people while letting China and other major polluters off scot free is not a winning election strategy. Calling huge swaths of the American electorate irredeemably deplorable is not a winning election strategy. Neither is promoting the spooky, globalist Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, the details of which Congressmen were not permitted to discuss even with their own constituents. And finally, what do you think about this?: promising amnesty to illegal immigrants in order to bolster the Democratic voter base while forcing actual American citizens to pay for it. C’mon! I know you know the answer. Repeat after me, this too is not a winning election strategy.
There. You see how much progress we’ve already made?
And I haven’t even mentioned those charming Antifa chaps. Now I know you mainstream Dems can’t be real comfortable with that bunch. And yet, I haven’t seen any of you really denounce their violence. Maybe some of you have. I just don’t seem to recall it.
Here’s a thought for you, the next time Antifa attacks your fellow peacefully assembled Americans, denounce them long and loud. Chances are you’ll find a little goodwill goes a long way.
Bottom line, you need to get a better plan. It would be good for you, and good for America.
And while you’re working on that new platform, please do us all a favor and for Pete’s sake stop blaming big bad Vlad and the Russians for what ails you.
As even James Comey testified, reports that Trump campaign aides had repeated contacts with Russian intelligence were “almost entirely wrong.” And if Comey can admit it, so can you.
Well, that about wraps up the Comey stuff. I know I promised at the start that I wouldn’t make this a Comey post, so without further ado, I’d like to raise the question, is it time for a…
Requiem For Brexit?
The world appeared genuinely shocked at the strong showing of Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party in the British elections this week. Labour’s gain in Parliament came at the expense of Theresa May and the conservatives, thus weakening their ability to push for a hard Brexit.
In a worst case scenario, Labour’s success this week could spell the end of Brexit altogether.
The turn of events in Great Britain is just the latest indication that the tide of populist nationalism has crested and that the globalists are back in control.
First, Geert Wilders was defeated in the Netherlands. Then nationalist Marine Le Pen was soundly defeated in France by the upstart globalist Emmanuel Macron. And now Britain may be going wobbly on Brexit.
While I’ve enjoyed the populist rising against globalism over the past year or so, my big concern has been that it is not grounded in the truth. Tyranny is the default politics of fallen man.
The relative peace and prosperity we’ve enjoyed in the West these past 500 years is the result, not of the Renaissance, as the humanists would have us believe, but of the Reformation and the widespread preaching of, and belief in, the Gospel of Justification by Faith Alone.
One of the side effects of the Reformation was the establishment of a new system of international relations. Gone was the globalist domination of the Roman Church-State and its Holy Roman Empire, and in its place arose a system of independent nation states that functioned as equals on the world stage. This new system was called the Westphalian World Order after the treaty of Westphalia, which ended the Thirty Year’s War.
The Westphalian World Order is geopolitical Protestantism. Globalism is geopolitical Romanism. The two systems are incompatible.
And now that Protestantism has largely disappeared from the West, it should come as no surprise that the Westphalian World Order is also crumbling.
It is our contention that the acceleration of “globalisation” in the late twentieth century has severely destabilised the Westphalian Order by weakening the authority of national governments. An increading number of human activities are now escaping national regulation and spinning out of control. The emerging cracks in the global governance superstructure are deepening to the point where the whole system could break down within the next ten years (Kimon Valaskakis Ph.D., Westphalia II: The Real Millennium Challenge, 2000).
What freedoms we still enjoy in the West are largely the result of our living off the spiritual capital of our ancestors. But that well of capital appears to be running dry. Unless there’s a second Reformation in the offing, it’s hard to see how the globalists don’t win, at least temporarily.
A temporary victory by the globalist Roman Antichrist is consistent with the message of Revelation, which very clearly prophesies a Satanic world government taking root prior to the return of Christ.
For my part, I hope that I’m wrong about the end of the Westphalian Order and the rise of the Romanist New World Order. But I don’t like the trend.
