It’s ten days to go until the big election, but to me it feels a bit like fourth and goal with the clock ticking down.
On the one side you have the establishment interests desperate to shove Hillary across the goal line.
On the other side of the ball, you have the American people, at least the ones who have enough sense not to support a criminal for president, seeking to push back against the onslaught of lies and fraud to make the big defensive stop.
It’s do or dies time.
So how’s this going to play out? Do the American people make the big stop, or does the Evil Empire win the day.
My Scripturalist convictions prevent me from making knowledge claims apart from Scripture and for that reason I tend to shy away from predictions. There’s that, plus I really just don’t like setting myself up to look foolish.
That said, I’m going to take a baby step out on a limb on offer an opinion, not a knowledge claim, but an opinion, and say that come Friday January 20, 2017 we’re going to bear witness to the inauguration of President Trump.
Why do I say this? Well for starters…
Servergate Investigation Resumes
Just when you thought you’d heard the last of Servergate, the FBI once again is looking into Hillary Clinton’s emails, and this as a result of its investigation into Anthony Weiner (aka Carlos Danger), the separated husband of Clinton’s top aid Huma Abedin.
Here we are ten days before the election and Hillary Clinton again finds herself in the legal spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
Whatever the actual outcome of this investigation, and it seems unlikely that there will be any resolution before November 8, this is a big negative for her in a race that is tightening, even in the rigged mainstream polls.
And then there’s this…
More (and Bigger) Wikileaks on the Way
According to an interview with Julian Assange, “He [Assange] will release more material in what he says will provide enough evidence to see Hillary Clinton arrested.”
Given Assange’s track record, it’s probably a good idea to take seriously what he says.
One thing worth noting about the Wikileaks email releases to date is that none of them have been emails from Hillary herself. As damaging as they’ve been, the senders have all been associates of hers, with campaign manager John Podesta’s name figuring most prominently among the releases.
With that in mind, it seems reasonable to assume that Assange has been saving the best for last. I suspect over the next week we’ll see the release of emails sent by Crooked Hillary herself.
Better grab some popcorn and find a nice comfortable chair. This is going to be quite a show.
And then there’s this…
(Un)Affordable Care Act Rate Increases
The (Un)affordable Care Act doubtless is one of the worst, if not the worst, piece of legislation even passed by Congress. It was pushed on the public by lies, out of pocket expenses and rates are shooting upwards (you’re paying more for less), and Forbes is reporting that the system has entered a “Death Spiral.”
Obamacare is the president’s signature legislative “achievement.” And if you’re Hillary running as the next Obama, the raging dumpster fire that is Obamacare doesn’t reflect too well on you. Especially when your opponent is out there calling Obamacare a “catastophe” (it is) and promising to “get rid of it” (a most excellent idea).
Even if all else were equal between Trump and Clinton (and they’re not), just this one issue would be a solid reason to vote for Trump.
Last but not least, there’s this…
Full Arenas vs. Empty Gyms
For some time now we’ve heard about how Trump is packing large arenas while Hillary can barely fill a high school gym.
I’ve been a little hesitant to talk about his phenomenon, if only because I don’t fully trust the sources out there.
On one hand we’re shown photos of packed Trump rallies and on the other Hillary rallies with a few hundred bored looking people at them.
But photos can be doctored.
Plus, there’s the question about when the picture was taken. One could take a photo of a rally two hours before the candidate is scheduled to speak, well before the crowd has fully arrived, and pass it off as indicative of lack of public enthusiasm.
Bloggers such as yours truly never can say for sure whether a rally photo actually is representative of the attendance at the event.
Students of Gordon Clark will note that what we’re talking about here is an inescapable problem of empirical epistemology. But that topics’ for another time.
Now with that caveat out of the way, it does seem strange that I have yet to see a photo of an arena full of raucous Hillary supporters. I’ve tried to find them on the internet, but they don’t seem to exist.
Then there’s this embarrassing photo of a Tim Kaine appearance in the key battleground state of Florida:

An apparent lack of enthusiasm for Tim Kaine in Florida.
There may be reasonable explanations for why the rally appears so desolate, but I haven’t heard anything from the Clinton camp denying that this is a legitimate photo.
One way to test whether there’s a legitimate difference between Trump’s crowds and Hillary’s crowds is to ask this question: If Hillary or Kaine really were packing ’em in at their rallies, wouldn’t their be photos be plastered all over the internet to document it?
Photos of massive Trump rallies are a dime a dozen. On the other hand, it is a challenge to find a picture of a Hillary rally with anything like an impressive crowd.
Here’s one of the fairest non-photo comparisons I’ve seen of rally sizes for Trump and Clinton.
According to the Des Moines Register, Clinton drew 2,000 today for her rally in the city, while Trump drew 5,000.
That’s not an insignificant difference.
Especially when the paper reporting it endorsed Hillary Clinton.
In summary, Hillary Clinton appears to be the political equivalent of the Ford Edsel, the car nobody wanted. But whereas Ford had the good sense to stop production once the public’s dislike became clear, the political establishment of the Democratic and Republican parties seems more determined than ever to shove the rotting corpse of Hillary’s pathetic campaign down the voters’ throats over the goal line.
Here’s saying Hillary’s tackled for a loss in the backfield.
Off topic, wondering if you can recommend any online reformed Bible study?
I’m not sure of any off hand.
