As an aside, it was more than a little rich to hear Biden’s lecture[1] on the eve of the third anniversary of the so-called insurrection. In that speech, he took Donald Trump to task for posting a threat to “our democracy.” A laughable charge, coming from a man who is openly standing down and refusing to enforce American immigration law, so he can remake America into some twisted socialist “paradise.” Biden and the Democrats are banking on turning the millions upon millions of illegal aliens, refugees, asylum seekers, dreamers, and all other comers into future, permanent welfare recipients and Democrats, who will cast the votes Americans won’t cast, permanently altering America for the worse.
But Donald Trump didn’t lead an insurrection on January 6th, 2021. He told his supporters to go to the Capitol and “protest peacefully.” If any recent president can be said to have attempted an insurrection, I submit that it’s Joe Biden, who, through his lawless, stand-down border policies, is attempting to remake America in his party’s image.
Now back to Adams’ remarks.
Worth noting is that Adams has picked up on the fact that Biden and his administration are not really the ones leading the border rush. Biden, Mayorkas, et. al., while in my opinion guilty of treason, are not the ones who came up with the theory of mass welfare immigration that we’re seeing implemented daily on our southern border.
Adams is also right in understanding that the source of the policy lies outside the United States. Generally, private citizens do not seek to subvert the good order of the societies they live in. In most cases, people look out for the well-being of their nations, for the simple reason that it’s their home. For the most part, one doesn’t foul one’s own nest.
But the piece missing from Adams’ analysis is the identity of the actual perpetrator of the immigration treason, “the person in charge,” in Adams’ words.
This is not to pick on Adams. Sadly, hardly anyone in America knows who’s behind the illegal alien assault on our nation. The mainstream press hasn’t a clue. You could watch mainstream coverage every day from now until doomsday and never have a clue about the flood of illegal aliens pouring into our nation. At least Adams is searching in the right place, even if he doesn’t yet know what he is looking for.
The alternate press isn’t much help, either. You’ll hear bloggers and YouTubers speak a lot about “globalists” in a general sense. Sometimes, they’ll talk about organizations such as The World Economic Forum or individuals such as George Soros. Certainly, these are bad actors whom all men of goodwill should distrust. But this really isn’t on point either.
But there is one organization and one individual who is most responsible for the flood of third-world illegal aliens into Western nations such as the United States, and Great Britain. That organization is so obviously the cause of the problem that it is truly a wonder that so few people recognize it. The Apostle Paul wrote of the Jews in his day that veil lay over their hearts, preventing them from hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ. It seems that something like this has occurred in our time to blind men, men who should know better, to the source of the destruction of their nations.
So just who is it that’s loosed the awful arrow of mass welfare migration on America? If you said the Vatican, and even more specifically, the papal Antichrist, blessed art thou. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but the Spirit of Truth.
There was a time when all Reformed believers, from the preacher in the pulpit and the professor in the seminary, right down to the humblest of ordinary Christians well knew that the Antichrist, man of sin, and son of perdition spoken of in the Scriptures was the office of the papacy. But this knowledge has been all but forgotten in our own day.
Beginning in 1903, the Presbyterian Church USA, the mainline Presbyterian church, revised the Westminster Confession of Faith to remove the language clearly and specifically identifying the pope of Rome as, “that Antichrist, that man of sin and son of perdition, that exalteth himself in the Church against Christ, and all that is called God.”[2]
That revision was made 121 years ago this year. There was a time when I considered eschatology – eschatology is the study of the Bible’s prophecies of the end times – not to be all that important in the great scheme of things. Christ was coming back to judge the quick and the dead, and that was pretty much all anyone needed to know. Over the years, the Lord has corrected this error in my thinking.
The Presbyterian church, by disestablishing the Protestant, Historicist understanding of eschatology, and substituting a Postmillennial view of end times which denied the clear and present danger of the papal Antichrist, left Presbyterians and Protestants blind to his present reality and workings.
This blinding has been remarkably effective.
Even when millions of illegal aliens, legal immigrants, refugees, and asylees are pouring across our nation’s borders, going on the dole, promoting socialism, and overburdening our schools, hospitals, public services, and infrastructure, all the while turning a once cohesive nation into a polyglot Tower of Babel, but even then faithful Christians are unable to discern the agency of Antichrist in bringing all this evil about. Truly, Antichrist has blinded the eyes of their hearts to his work.
And what good thing has happened to the Presbyterian church since it forgot who Antichrist is? Nothing much at all. It’s been over a century of apostasy and decline. There was a time when one could hear the gospel of Jesus Christ in the mainline Presbyterian church. But today you’ll hear some nonsense from the pulpit by a female “minister” and bear witness to same-sex weddings. Thus a once faithful church has transformed itself into a synagogue of Satan.
So, am I saying that a change in eschatology is solely responsible for the decline of the Presbyterian Church USA? No, that’s not what I’m saying. But the 902 revision of the Westminster Confession is part of the collapse of the mainline Presbyterian church and of Protestantism in America more generally.
In Revelation Chapter 2, the resurrected Lord Jesus rebuked the Ephesian church, telling them, “Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” As we begin a new year full of the promise of conflict, perhaps American Christians would do well to ask themselves whether we have, as did the Ephesian church, lost our first love, that is our love of the truth, including the truth of the identity of Antichrist and his evil works.
In Revelation, Jesus threatened to remove the Ephesians’ lampstand, that is, he threatened to remove the loveless church from being a church. At the start of the Year of Our Lord 2024, the American Protestant church finds itself at a similar crossroads. Does the American Protestant church have ears to hear what the Spirit says to them and repent of the Jesuit eschatologies[3] that they teach once again recognize the papacy as the Antichrist that it is, or will we, like the church at Ephesus, have our lampstand removed?
In closing, it’s the Vatican that driving the destruction of the United States through mass welfare migration. This should come as no surprise. That’s just how Antichrist rolls. He gets his power from Satan and his job is to lie and to destroy and to murder. The Christian’s job is to speak the truth of God’s word, and part of that truth is correctly identifying who Antichrist is and the destructive work that he does. May God grant his people eyes to see and the courage to speak.
