And if he is an illegitimate president, all the executive orders and all the bills he’s signed, including the absurdly named Inflation Reduction Act, are likewise illegitimate.  So too are his appointees.  Whether it’s openly sexually immoral individuals such as Pete Buttigieg, Rachel Levine, Sam Brinton, and Karine Jean-Pierre, or a Supreme Court Justice who claims not to know what a woman is, while at the same time being celebrated as the first black woman to sit on the Supreme Court. 

Since being in office, the Biden Regime and the Democrats have destroyed our energy independence and deliberately caused record high gas prices, destroyed our national sovereignty by putting the US back into the treasonous Paris Climate Accord, destroyed our borders, in particular our southern border, which at present is largely nonexistent, declared war on America’s historic, core, white Protestant population, attacked our Second Amendment rights, threatened people with the good sense not to take the poison death Covid jab with the loss of their jobs, dishonestly and unscientifically blamed the unvaccinated for the continuing Covid scamdemic, and sicced the FBI on parents who protested at school board meetings because their kids were being taught racist, Marxist Critical Race Theory.

Oh, and I haven’t said anything about J6 Committee Soviet-style show trials or the Democrats’ political prisoners being held without trial, many of whom did nothing more than peacefully walk through the Capitol

And lest I forget, there’s the latest Banana Republic move by the Regime: sending the FBI to raid Donald Trump’s home in Florida.

If all this weren’t bad enough, some people are of a mind that these outrages are just a prelude to what the Democrats really want, which is to institute one-party rule in America. 

It’s hard to argue with this position.

Paul Craig Roberts posted two pieces last week arguing that the Democrats are preparing a “putsch”, which is simply another word for “coup”.  But the word “putsch” is German and associated with the Nazi takeover of Germany, and Roberts repeatedly describes the Democrats as “Nazis.”  You can read his posts here and here and decide for yourself if Roberts is right. 

For my part, I simply say of the Democrats what I have said in this space repeatedly, that they are the party of rum, Romanism, and rebellion and the political home of Antichrist in the United States of America.  The actions of the Biden Regime and the Democrats in Congress are nothing but the party living down to its well-earned reputation for thug politics.  And when you think about it, that’s something the Dems have in common with the Nazis, who also were well-known for their thug politics.  The Nazis themselves were principally a Catholic party, and one could refer to them as Germany’s party of rum, Romanism, and rebellion.  So, I think Roberts is on to something by calling the Democrats “Nazis”.

So, let’s go back to the question I asked in the title of this post, what are Christian patriots living under the occupation Biden Regime to do?  The first thing Christians need to do to answer this question is to make sure they turn to the proper source.  Gordon Clark and John Robbins taught that the Bible has a systematic monopoly on truth.  This is not to say that there are no true statements about politics and political crises outside of Scripture, but we know that they are true only because these ideas are found in the Word of God. 

With that in mind, let’s ask another question, is there any example of God’s people living under an illegitimate government in the Scriptures?  Yes, in fact, there is a striking and underappreciated example of this very thing.  It’s the account of the usurping, queen regnant Athaliah, found in II Kings 11 and II Chronicles 22 and 23.    

Lord willing, next week we will explore the fascinating account of Athaliah’s own putsch to become queen of Judah, one which nearly resulted in the extinction of the Davidic line of kings but for the heroic actions of a few individuals, and an account packed with important lessons for American Christian patriots on how we ought to respond to the present difficult circumstances in which we find ourselves.
